2015 Foliage Update
	Current stage: Done. First frost/freeze this year was on 10/18. OBSERVATIONS AND OUTLOOK: WEEKEND OF 11/7-11/8: The foliage season has largely moved south; rolling hills have dull color that shines at sunrise/sunset. WEEKEND OF 10/31-11/1: Wednesday's rain and wind storm changed everything. A lot of leaves are gone. Some of those that are left are quite colorful, but won't really make for a second peak. A few rolling hills are wonderfully multicolored, however. WEEKEND OF 10/24-25: With the hard freeze on 10/18 we're moving into the mature stage; unfortunately, a lot of early leaves are gone from the wind on 10/18-19. So colors are dull again while we wait for the second wave of color triggered by the freeze. It may not take long. WEEKEND OF 10/17-18: We're entering the prime of the season with oranges and reds more common. In fact, this was the weekend of orange everywhere at the higher elevations. WEEKEND OF 10/10-11: There's good color in some locations; notably higher altitudes and at the bottom of river valleys; the earliest color was often dull (yellow-brown) but the brighter yellows are now showing up, along with more and more reds Lots more to come, and it's getting better by the day. WEEKEND OF 10/03-04: Spotty color here and there, often dull. It will be interesting to see the effect of this week's frequent rain and cooler temperatures. WEEKEND OF 9/26-27: This is the first week of cool nights; no real color yet.
